Top 3 Day Trips from Corfu

You may be asking yourself before booking a trip to Corfu are there enough things to do to keep me occupied?

Having been to the island over 15 times I can assure you that there are plenty of mesmerising sights and experiences on the island, so whether you are only staying a few nights, a week or even two there are more than enough activities to keep you busy which I will go in to much more detail about in future blogs, but today I’m here to share my Top 3 Day Trips from Corfu.

  1. Captain Theo’s Blue Lagoon Cruise

Now this is a MUST on your visit to Corfu. Your day starts in Corfu Town where you cruise over to Sivota, a picturesque traditional Greek town with a beautiful harbour. Before you get there, you will have the opportunity to swim in crystal clear waters, and whilst you enjoy a swim in the idyllic lagoon the crew are busy onboard preparing a tasty barbecue. You will then have some time to check out Sivota, before your final stop at the famous Blue Lagoon, where you can swim in more tropical waters this time with fish - so be sure to take your GoPro with you if you have one!

2. Boat Trip to Parga

There are a few different ways to visit Parga from Corfu, you can do Parga and Paxos, or Parga and Sivota but I recommend fitting in Paxos too.

You will leave Corfu behind, and travel by boat towards Parga on the Greek mainland. Parga is a pretty pastel coloured town and is the definition of insta-worthy! Pretty streets, a chilled atmosphere and some authentic bars and restaurants help you soak up one of Greece’s most beautiful towns.

Following on from Parga, you can then visit Paxos which legend has it was a gift from Poseidon the God of the Sea to his lover and once you visit there it will become clear to you why! Paxos has a small population of 2,500 people so you get a relaxed atmosphere there with secluded bays and coves.

3. Spend the day in Albania

For the more adventurous amongst us who are looking for a different experience, I recommend a day-trip to Albania from Corfu. Many will have seen Albania mentioned on social media in recent weeks as a hidden gem tourism destination, and given how close Albania is to Corfu this allows you to take a day trip there and tick another country off your travel bucket list!

To get to Albania from Corfu, you will need to take the short boat ride over (approximately 30 minutes) and once there you will get the opportunity to visit the UNESCO World Heritage ancient ruins of Butrint, as well as the beautiful village of Saranda, or even the caribbean-esque beaches of Ksamil.

There are plenty of more day trips to do from Corfu so stay tuned to my future blogs for more of the idyllic Greek island!
